The equipment of the genetics laboratory provides its users with the possibility of complete processing of samples for genetic analyses. The laboratory is equipped with equipment that enables complete workflow following the collection of samples in the field. In the laboratory there are cooling boxes for temporary storage of processed material as well as various types of equipment for homogenizing samples, depending on their properties. For the subsequent isolation of nucleic acids (DNA/RNA), several high-speed centrifuges, vortexes and/or pipettes are available in the laboratory.
The laboratory's equipment is also used to determine the quantitative and qualitative parameters of nucleic acids. For these purposes, the laboratory is equipped with, for example, horizontal electrophoresis, a spectrophotometer, and an imaging device for agarose gels.
Last but not least, laboratory users have the opportunity to perform their work safely, both for themselves and from the point of view of contamination of samples from the surrounding environment, thanks to working in fume hoods or UV boxes.
Subsequent analyses of isolated nucleic acids can take place with, for example, the help of classic PCR cyclers and a RT-PCR cycler.
