The in vitro laboratory is used to research the behaviour of various plants in controlled in vitro conditions. As part of our research, we focus on the vegetative propagation of plants using organogenesis or somatic embryogenesis. The work in the in vitro laboratory deals primarily with the optimization of methodological procedures for plant growth in connection with the used nutrient media (MS, WPM, DKW, LP, etc.) and plant growth regulators (BAP, KIN, ZEA, IBA, NAA, etc.). Both domestic and introduced tree species are successfully cultivated within bachelor's, diploma, and dissertation theses (e.g., Sorbus aucuparia, Disanthus cercidifolius, Betula oycoviensis, Populus tremula, Morus nigra, Rhododendron dauricum, Picea abies), ornamental plants (e.g., Hydrangea spp. , Dicentra spp.), as well as orchids (Orchis pururea, Anacamptis morio, Spiranthes spiralis).
