The Forest Engineering master's field of study offers two forms of study – full-time and part-time. It mainly follows on from the Forest Management bachelor's programme. It thus represents a smooth connection to studies at a lower level and deepens the acquired knowledge and skills of bachelor's degree graduates. Emphasis is placed on the improvement and sustainable use of forest and natural resources. The graduate is able to ensure the needs of society placed on the forest, within the appropriate technical, nature-friendly, and economically favourable solutions.
The state final exam is taken before the committee. Students defend their diploma theses and take exams in five comprehensive subjects: Forestry Economics, Forest Management, Forest Protection, Silviculture, and Logging and Construction.
Graduates of the Forest Engineering master’s programme will receive the academic title Ing. and they can apply for one of the fields of doctoral study or go into practice, in particular as:
- staff members of state administration in the area of forest management, game management, nature conservation and environmental protection at the regional and municipal level and in central state administration bodies (Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of the Environment)
