Project annotation:
The scope of the project is the development and research of new IterSoft applications and programs for forestry. It will produce 6 outputs – a map module and a new compatible mobile application, application server, extension of the web interface for sharing access between multiple partners, mobile applications for electronic measurement and calculation of volume and number of pieces of wood, tally sheets, and a new module for wood assortment in a computer. The project will be implemented in cooperation with CZU in Prague.
What problem does the project deal with?
The project deals with several problems:
- Reduction of operational and administrative requirements in forestry
- Help with managing the bark beetle outbreak
- Targeting user-friendly solutions (using tablets, smartphones)
- Filling the market gap for electronic wood intake systems in the field in the Czech Republic.
What causes the problem?
The causes of the problem are the current increase in demands from public administration, and the prevailing bark beetle outbreak in the Czech Republic, where infested wood must be processed rapidly. Furthermore, there is the immobility of current solutions and the need to purchase PC applications. There is still no alternative for the electronic system for wood income in the field for the Czech market.
What is the aim of the project?
The aim of the project is to develop new software solutions for forestry, namely a map module and a new compatible mobile application, application server, extension of the web interface for access sharing between multiple partners, virtualization of a comprehensive system into the web interface, mobile application for electronic measurement and volume calculation and the number of pieces of wood, a tally sheet, and a new module for wood assortment in a computer. The new solutions will facilitate the work of forestry workers, accelerate the digitization of this segment in the Czech Republic and, overall, will lead to an increase in the competitiveness of the IterSoft company, but also to an increase in the competitiveness of the forestry segment.
