Team for Forest Bioeconomy of the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences facilitates the solution of conceptual problems of circular bioeconomy by providing state-of-the-art research, publication of findings and positions, and conceptual documents based on research, and by supporting the decision makers. Our mission is to support the government, business, general public and other stakeholders the knowledge needed to transition towards a truly sustainable economy based on the principles of circular bioeconomy. Forest bioeconomy at the FLD is being approached within research projects, publications, and is included in its teaching of undergraduate and graduate study programs.
To resolve the identified areas of interest, the Team has set the following priorities for the upcoming years:
- Policy integration aimed towards having a standard circular bioeconomy policy document in the Czech Republic.
- Production of an integrated systém of policy instruments optimized for minimizing government expenditure while maximizing the output of bioeconomy.
- Elaboration of new business models based on biotechnologies that focus on a long-term increase of competitiveness of the Czech bioeconomy.
- Facilitation of development of new biomaterials and value chains focused on increasing the competitiveness of the Czech bioeconomy.
- Transfer of knowledge from research to policy and professional public.
- Transfer of knowledge from research to future generations through comprehensive higher education.
- Development of instruments that enable the transition to sustainable consumption patterns based on circular bioeconomy.
