The Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences at the ČZU in Prague has received support for a new SHUNTDIEM project aimed at developing sustainable hunting tourism in Europe. The project, which is funded by the Erasmus+ programme, builds on the earlier HUNTOUR project and will bring together students, academics and professionals from the public and private sectors from four European countries.
In the framework of the SHUNTDIEM project, the Faculty will collaborate with the Faculty of Science of the University of Novi Sad in Serbia, the Faculty of Agriculture of the Zagreb University in Croatia and the School of Forestry and Natural Environment of the Thessaloniki University in Greece. The key outputs of the project will be educational materials, a web platform for professionals and those interested in hunting tourism, an innovative co-taught course and various workshops to promote a sustainable approach to hunting. Finally, a summer school will be organised for students to share examples of good practice in the field.
As stated by the project's principal investigator, Dr Markéta Kalábová, SHUNTDIEM is unique in connecting institutions and experts across Europe and also through the use of digital tools.
The whole team met in person for the first time at the kick-off meeting held on 14 November in Prague.
